A preservative used in cosmetics to prevent microbial growth. Caution: EU Annex V caps propyl- and butylparaben combined at 0.14% due to endocrine concerns, and prohibits use in leave-on products for the nappy area of children under 3 (Reg (EU) 1004/2014).
