An antioxidant used mainly in hair dyes to stop the colour reacting too early. Caution: the EU limits inorganic sulfites to 0.67% (as free SO2) in oxidative hair dyes and 0.2% in other products (Reg 1223/2009 Annex III), and some people react to sulfites.
